Exterior."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.remodeling.hw.net\/2010\/costvsvalue\/division\/west-south-central\/city\/austin--tx.aspx\">2010-11 Remodeling Cost vs. Value Report <\/a>\u00a0is out.\u00a0 And this year\u00a0Realtors rated exterior improvement projects among the most cost-effective, demonstrating that curb appeal\u00a0is still king when it comes to\u00a0resale time.\u00a0 In fact, nine of the top 10 most cost-effective projects\u00a0on the list\u00a0are exterior projects.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/neighborhoods-in-austin.com\/tx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/front_door.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-529 alignleft\" style=\"border: 0px;\" title=\"front_door\" src=\"http:\/\/neighborhoods-in-austin.com\/tx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/front_door-256x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"179\" height=\"210\" srcset=\"http:\/\/neighborhoods-in-austin.com\/tx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/front_door-256x300.jpg 256w, http:\/\/neighborhoods-in-austin.com\/tx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/front_door.jpg 352w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 179px) 100vw, 179px\" \/><\/a>The report compares construction costs with resale values for 35 midrange and upscale remodeling projects comprising additions, remodels and replacements in 80 markets across the country.\u00a0 Recognizing that housing\u00a0trends are different as you travel across the country,the report divides the country into regions and reports the data separately for each region.\u00a0 The\u00a0on-line version of the new report allows you to select the region of the country and\u00a0major metropolitan area you&#8217;re near for the most relevant information.<\/p>\n<p>According to the report, replacing a front door returns the most money, with an estimated 102.1% of cost recouped upo<a href=\"http:\/\/neighborhoods-in-austin.com\/tx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/GarageDoor5283a.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-530\" style=\"border: 0px;\" title=\"GarageDoor5283a\" src=\"http:\/\/neighborhoods-in-austin.com\/tx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/GarageDoor5283a-300x110.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"110\" srcset=\"http:\/\/neighborhoods-in-austin.com\/tx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/GarageDoor5283a-300x110.jpg 300w, http:\/\/neighborhoods-in-austin.com\/tx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/GarageDoor5283a.jpg 760w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>n resale.\u00a0 It\u00a0it is also the only project in this year\u2019s report that is expected to return more than the cost.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>A\u00a0mid-range garage door replacement, a new addition to the report this year, is expected to recoup 83.9% of its cost.\u00a0 Both projects are small investments that cost little more than $1,200 each, on average.\u00a0 The\u00a0Realtors surveyed\u00a0identified these two door\u00a0replacements as projects that can significantly improve a home\u2019s curb appeal.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>A great description of these projects and their costs can be found on the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.realtor.org\/rmohome_and_design\/Articles\/2011\/1101_costvsvalue\">National Association of Realtors&#8217; website<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0The 2010-11 Remodeling Cost vs. Value Report \u00a0is out.\u00a0 And this year\u00a0Realtors rated exterior improvement projects among the most cost-effective, demonstrating that curb appeal\u00a0is still king when it comes to\u00a0resale time.\u00a0 In fact, nine of the top 10 most cost-effective projects\u00a0on the list\u00a0are exterior projects.
